A Video for Zadi and Steve

Here's a little video Mario and I made for Zadi and Steve... I tried to do my best "voiceover" voice... hehe. The icky power lines kinda suck though, ah well.

If you look hard, you can see Andrew Congdon's foot which made a cameo.

You guys have such a bright future ahead!

wmv version is here.

Thanks guys! *super blush* I couldn't help but laugh! :) It's reaally sweet and thoughtful. That song is from the night on Hollywood Blvd! Haha recognized it instantly. It was awesome hanging out. :) Must do again!

    Great footwork.

I thought the power lines were cool. The sun floated above them as above a musical scale, as if subtly suggesting that real life is "off the charts."

(I have got to cut down on the coffee.)

What awesome friends we have! Really great of you and Mario to take the time to put this together for us. And I love your shoelaces!

When you get to the Left Coast, the notepads will be on us... :)

The video was just OK for me, Amanda. (Kind of skin deep.) I guess I am looking for more from you. It is a nice thing to do for your friends, though. Thanks.

Wow. An *ART* piece. And a really beautiful one.

I have never met Zadi and Steve, but they must be terrific people.

Thanks for letting us enjoy with you.

Amanda, when I first checked in at rocketboom (what seems like weeks ago) and saw that you had left I was shocked and called my closest of friends to vent. I have continued to watch rocketboom and have been very disappointed at the quality of work. You were the reason people watched the show and I am sure many people are looking forward to a new project from you so that they can have their daily dose of Amanda.

    Dear Amanda,

Thank you for making me aware of the BlogHer conference. I live a few hops away, and was able to attend Saturday. I got some free lotion, and other free stuff.

Sunday I went to an old media conference at Pebble Beach. I saw Nicole Kidman, who was one of the guests. Tony Blair was one of the speakers. The restaurant was amazing, and the view over the pacific very beautiful.

I prefer watching your refreshing blog, rather than most traditional news channels. However I’m considering submitting my talk show block to several traditional TV stations, they seem to be well funded. When you have time please feel free to email me some feedback about the show.

    All the best,

Very good "voiceover" voice. Make sure that guy gets his residuals on the song though!

I really loved this video. Very clever touches throughout. I just found you thru the WSJ article.

It's clear you have a very loyal following and many options ahead!

Hey, about that WSJ piece: Interesting that Amanda was listed and, um, certain other people/v-logs were not.

  • At 2:36 PM, Blogger argos said…

That was really sweet and refreshing to this viewer who after 14 years of marriage loves to be reminded of those early days of burgeoning promise.
Oh yeah, and one other thing. Tell your friends that the brown spots on the lawn are probably causes by grubs eating up the roots and are best treated with several applications of "milky spoor" (Bacillus popillae).
Milky spoor is not toxic and kills the grubs via infection without harming other beneficial people, pets and bugs.

Again, really enjoyed this video. What couple wouldn't love getting something like this. (Move over OM, now it's time for Hallmark!)

Seriously, this explosion is really interesting to follow. I'm a lifer, or at least have experience in several branches of OM.

While the guys + girls in old media do need the vitality of what's evolving on the Internet, theirs is automatically a world of more control, naysayers, corporate suits, even conflicting competition.

The people who got in on the ground floor here (and the WSJ article is how I found you, and several of the other sites) are the ones who have the brightest future. The groundwork's been laid; you've earned your diehard followers. Still an exciting time for anyone who has a creative plan or unique show, because here is where one can develop a totally personal message. And the envelope in which it's delivered to viewers, each and every day.

Now that NM is off and running, it will be harder for newbies to jump onboard and get a foothold. But having an idea and a set of basic tech skills is a start. From there, it's all about success and numbers ... and building a loyal audience.

In radio, newspapers, also TV news, it's pretty common water-cooler gossip to hear about the higher-up muckety mucks who got in the way of something. (Someone's career or show or project.)

So the open letter and total support of NM talent-- and deep appreciation for talent's daily needs-- well, let's just say that in OM, that talk is reserved strictly for a select few! NM lets you grow your brand and enjoy the fruits of your labor. (Sorry for the mumbo jargon, but really, with so much competition it's always about proving one's self.) And here's to the stars of NM who are changing the course of how talent is treated. Very prevalent in the above mentioned industries to cut corners, consolidate, cut jobs and shitcan even successful pros, as odd as that may sound.

If I may end with this- and thanks for letting me ramble- new media is dazzled by creativity, and in some cases seems to reward Talent for tangible, impressive creative results.

We'll see how OM can incorporate this new concept of letting shows continue on organically, and from the heart. Because that's how each viewer turned into a loyal online friend.

Happy for all who are making this new blueprint a reality. Good Luck!
